CEU Course Description

Diabetes mellitus affects over 11% of the population in the United States, with prevalence continuing to increase at a rapid rate. Nurses continue to encounter more and more patients affected by diabetes. Nurses must stay informed of different aspects of diabetes, including the various types, risk factors, prevalence, common symptoms, diagnostic methods, and lifelong consequences. In this course, we will review these and identify current treatments and preventative measures. 

CEU Course Objectives 

  1. Understand the different types of Diabetes mellitus, including Type 1, Type 2, Gestational, and prediabetes
  2. Review the risk factors for Diabetes mellitus, the prevalence of the disease, common symptoms, diagnostic methods, and lifelong consequences
  3. Identify current treatments and preventative measures
