CEU Course Description
The guideline is relevant to all healthcare professionals providing or directing treatment services to patients recovering from a stroke, in any healthcare setting (primary care, specialty care, and long-term care) and in community programs.
CEU Course Objectives
- Describe the primary and secondary goals of rehabilitation following stroke.
- Discuss the necessity of early assessment and intervention in optimizing rehabilitation.
- Identify the role of the rehabilitation team, including the patient and family, in ensuring optimal outcome.
- Evaluate ways in which ongoing medical management of risk factors and comorbidities is essential to survival after stroke.
- Summarize evidence-based practices that are designed to achieve maximum functionality and independence, and to improve quality of life.
