CE Course Description
Research presented by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) suggests that serious emotional disturbances (SED), serious mental illnesses (SMI), and co-occurring disorders are on the rise among youth patient populations. Therefore, health care professionals should possess insight into SED, SMI, and co-occurring disorders to effectively treat patients in need. This course reviews SAMHSA's evidence-based resource guide centered around treatment considerations for SED, SMI, and co-occurring disorders to provide health care professionals with the necessary insight to optimize youth patient care.
