CEU Course Description

This course provides health professionals with the essential knowledge and skills to enhance the quality of life for residents living with dementia, with a strong focus on nutrition and hydration. Explore the physiological and cognitive changes associated with dementia and learn how these impact nutritional needs and eating behaviors.

CEU Course Objectives 

  1. Understand the physiological and cognitive changes associated with dementia.
  2. Identify and address nutritional deficiencies in residents with dementia.
  3. Develop strategies for managing mealtime challenges and swallowing difficulties.
  4. Create a supportive and engaging dining environment for residents with dementia.
  5. Implement effective hydration strategies.
  6. Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to improve resident care.
