Course Description
This course is based on a chapter that has been excerpted from Treatment Improvement Protocol Manual #53: Addressing viral Hepatitis in People with Substance Use Disorders. This chapter specifically addresses the treatment recommendations for Hepatitis A, B and C.
Course Objectives
- Outline overall treatment recommendations for Hepatitis A, B, and C.
- Discuss hepatitis treatment considerations for people with substance abuse issues.
- Identify the various medications used to treat hepatitis.
- Describe the implications of HCV/HIV co-infection and for those with co-occurring behavioral health disorders.
