CE Course Description

In a world of increasing population mobility and diversity, nurses and other healthcare workers are given the privilege and challenge of providing care to individuals from various geographical, ethnic, and religious backgrounds. As nurses provide individualized care to their patients, each nurse must be prepared to integrate cultural competence into their approach. This course will help participants understand what it means to provide culturally competent care, identify ways culture affects healthcare and contributes to health disparities, assess their knowledge regarding cultural competence, and implement cultural competency in their practice in various healthcare settings.
